Our Specialcise programs offer a range of learning opportunities and new experiences that foster a sense of community and connection for people with disabilities (PWD). The SLES program is a unique chance to enhance the quality of life for our participants while building their self-confidence and independence.
SLES stands for School Leaver Employment Supports and is a NDIS-funded pathway program that helps school leavers transition from school to employment. It is available to PWD in their final years of school and those who have graduated high school. SLES can run up to 2 years to improve their employment prospects, general life skills and independence.
The Specialcise SLES program is designed to provide training in essential job-seeking skills and hands-on experience in various work settings, such as job hunting, interviews, creating a resume, work experience, paid employment opportunities and more. The SLES program aims to provide opportunities, prepare and support each participant throughout their employment journey, through meaningful and tailored capacity-building activities.
The goal of the Specialcise SLES program is to equip our clients with the knowledge and skills they need to become job-ready. Our intention is to support them in reaching their employment goals with enthusiasm and confidence.
We rotate work experience opportunities so each participant gets to try a bit of everything in order to hone in on their preferences and interests.
